Attorney Baskin is the former Chairman of the Board of Directors for one of the largest bulk mailing/printing companies in the southeast as well as other nonprofit corporations. He was recognized as a Trailblazer in 2013 by the Dukes Foundation, Inc., an organization which addresses the needs of high-risk male youth. In 2017 Attorney Baskin received the coveted In The Spirit Award for his outstanding contributions to the legal field and his social contributions to the community. Attorney Baskin received the coveted lifetime achievement award from ALM Media, LLC in recognition of his outstanding achievements to the legal profession. Attorney Baskin is a graduate of Fisk University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He is a 1979 CLEO Fellow, Kansas University Law School. He completed his legal studies at the venerable Howard University Law School where he graduated Cum Laude and received several American Jurisprudence Awards in recognition of his outstanding academic achievements.

As the founding attorney of The Baskin Law Group, P.C., Michael A. Baskin, has practiced law for over 40 years. Attorney Baskin practiced law with King & Spalding—one of the country’s premiere law firms (his hiring led other law firms in Atlanta to actively recruit and hire law students from Howard University). In 2002, after providing both legal and management leadership to Clark Atlanta University as the University’s first General Counsel and Executive Vice President, Attorney Baskin founded The Baskin Law Group, P.C., a firm specializing in serious bodily injuries from motor vehicle accidents, including automobiles, motorcycles and tractor trailer trucks, to rapes and assaults in apartment complexes, as well as serious injuries from slip & fall accidents on commercial properties. The Baskin Law Group also has a corporate/management practice that includes mailing/print companies, colleges and universities, faith-based entities, medical groups, construction companies and several others. As the managing partner for The Baskin Law Group, the firm continues to enjoy extraordinary success. In addition to running a multi-million dollar law practice, Attorney Baskin has been recognized by the business students of Clark Atlanta University as an outstanding professor for two (2) years. He has also taught business law and education law at Morris Brown College and Argosy University. Attorney Baskin has been and continues to be socially engaged. He is the former Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Salvation Army Boys & Girls Clubs, former member of the Advisory Board, Ben Hill United Methodist Church Christian Academy, a member of Leadership Atlanta and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
